Subaru Steps Up to Fight Cancer, Support Local Communities

Subaru Logo | Beaverton, OR

For the past 7 years, Subaru of America has been a reliable force in the fight to cure blood cancer and promote good health — helping communities, health providers, and researchers around the country with a steady stream of fundraisers and donations.

The Subaru Loves to Care program is a major supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which leads the way with advocacy, research, and treatment for blood cancer patients. Each year, Subaru teams up with LLS to deliver thousands of blankets, arts and craft kits, and encouraging messages to adults and kids who are in treatment or recovery for leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma.

In addition to its LLS partnership, Subaru Loves to Care makes generous financial donations to facilities that treat cancer patients and others in need of care. Most recently, Subaru presented Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey with $30,000 for equipment that allows patients to treat chronic health problems at home.

Subaru Loves to Care is part of the larger Subaru Love Promise, which unites Subaru’s corporate offices, retailers, employees, and customers with the goal of helping local communities. In addition to health organizations, the Subaru Love Promise funds education, environmental preservation, anti-hunger efforts, animal welfare, and much more.

Here at CARR Subaru, we’re proud to support all of Subaru’s charitable efforts. Contact our team to learn how you can join in, too!

Subaru 2022 Top Safety Pick

We’ve always known that Subaru is one of the safest car brands, but it’s nice to get validation. Subaru has recently won six 2022 Top Safety Pick awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the industry’s benchmark for road car safety.

Of the six vehicles honored by the IIHS, an impressive four earned the coveted Top Safety Pick+ award: the 2022 Subaru Ascent, Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, Subaru Legacy, and Subaru Outback. The remaining award winners were the Subaru Crosstrek and Subaru Impreza five-door.

All of these nameplates are recurring winners in the annual Top Safety Pick evaluations. The Legacy, Impreza, and Outback have each won the award for 14 years running or more. The Crosstrek Hybrid has won TSP+ recognition for four consecutive years. In fact, Subaru has received a whopping 61 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards since 2013, more than any other brand.

New Subaru BRZ Wins Edmunds Top Rated Sports Car Award

A great sports car doesn’t have to be an expensive one, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why the 2022 Subaru BRZ is this year’s Edmunds Top Rated Sports Car.

According to Edmunds, the 2022 BRZ excels by combining powerful performance, nimble handling that’s superior to much more expensive models, and a price tag that makes it accessible to a wider range of thrill-seeking drivers.

Edmunds doesn’t hand out Top Rated awards lightly — each year, it tests more than 300 models and racks up more than 500,000 test-drive miles on both the road and the track.

The 2022 BRZ shone brightly in these conditions, showing off a new naturally aspirated 228-horsepower engine, an upgraded and stiffened chassis, and a new set of high-performance summer tires. Add a starting MSRP of $27,995, and it’s no wonder the BRZ stood out.

“We are thrilled that the BRZ was recognized by Edmunds as the Top Rated Sports Car for 2022,” said Thomas J. Doll, Subaru of America’s president and CEO. “It’s our mission as an automaker to develop vehicles that consumers not only can trust, but can also have a great time driving, and the BRZ does just that.”

To find out for yourself why the 2022 BRZ is such an incredible sports car, stop in for a test drive here at CARR Subaru in Beaverton, Oregon.

Anticipating the All-Electric Subaru Solterra SUV

Subaru Logo | Beaverton, OR

Here at CARR Subaru, we’re thrilled about the upcoming all-electric Subaru Solterra SUV. The automaker recently released an exciting sneak preview of this new model.

The Solterra will be a new type of energy-friendly SUV in Subaru’s already impressive lineup. Keeping the environment in mind, Subaru appropriately named the Solterra after two Latin words: “sol,” which means sun, and “terra,” which means Earth. The name makes for a perfect combination to describe a vehicle that Subaru anticipates will elevate its adventure-friendly vehicle family to new energy-efficient heights. The Solterra is expected to go on sale in Beaverton, Oregon, in 2022.

At present, we don’t know for sure about the Solterra’s dimensions and exterior style. The EV’s build could range anywhere between the profile of the Crosstrek, the physique of the Forester, or the sleek shape of the Outback.

But we do know that the Subaru Solterra will be built on the e-SUBARU Global Platform, as the brand has confirmed. The e-SUBARU Global Platform utilizes Subaru’s all-wheel-drive experience with Toyota’s demonstrated capability for developing electric vehicles.

The Solterra will also feature an “EV” badge in a blue shade similar to the 2021 Subaru Legacy’s Abyss Blue Pearl. More 2023 Subaru Solterra updates are available for eager buyers on Subaru’s website. And make sure to stay tuned to CARR Subaru’s blog in the days ahead for more details as we hear more about the upcoming all-electric Subaru Solterra.
