Over the last few decades, Subaru has earned a well-deserved reputation as an automaker that cares. It started with a strong lineup of reliable cars with exceptional safety ratings and eventually grew into a series of philanthropic efforts known as the Subaru Love Promise. The latest example of Subaru’s commitment to doing good is its second annual “National Make a Dog’s Day” event, during which it helped pets in need.
Subaru Loves Pets, an animal-focused branch of the Love Promise, sponsored this event held on Oct. 22. It focused on finding homes for “last-to-be-adopted” dogs in shelters, including many canines with special needs.
“Dogs hold a special place in our hearts here at Subaru, and this year’s National Make a Dog’s Day [was…] the perfect occasion to show appreciation for our canine friends, especially the hundreds of thousands of dogs with special needs that are too often overlooked,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

During October, you can catch one of the automaker’s dog-centric commercials that showcase how pet-friendly Subaru models are. Subaru also encourages you to do something special for your dog and share pictures on social media using #MakeADogsDay.
