Anticipating the All-Electric Subaru Solterra SUV

Subaru Logo | Beaverton, OR

Here at CARR Subaru, we’re thrilled about the upcoming all-electric Subaru Solterra SUV. The automaker recently released an exciting sneak preview of this new model.

The Solterra will be a new type of energy-friendly SUV in Subaru’s already impressive lineup. Keeping the environment in mind, Subaru appropriately named the Solterra after two Latin words: “sol,” which means sun, and “terra,” which means Earth. The name makes for a perfect combination to describe a vehicle that Subaru anticipates will elevate its adventure-friendly vehicle family to new energy-efficient heights. The Solterra is expected to go on sale in Beaverton, Oregon, in 2022.

At present, we don’t know for sure about the Solterra’s dimensions and exterior style. The EV’s build could range anywhere between the profile of the Crosstrek, the physique of the Forester, or the sleek shape of the Outback.

But we do know that the Subaru Solterra will be built on the e-SUBARU Global Platform, as the brand has confirmed. The e-SUBARU Global Platform utilizes Subaru’s all-wheel-drive experience with Toyota’s demonstrated capability for developing electric vehicles.

The Solterra will also feature an “EV” badge in a blue shade similar to the 2021 Subaru Legacy’s Abyss Blue Pearl. More 2023 Subaru Solterra updates are available for eager buyers on Subaru’s website. And make sure to stay tuned to CARR Subaru’s blog in the days ahead for more details as we hear more about the upcoming all-electric Subaru Solterra.

Spring Service Tips for Your Vehicle in Beaverton, OR

Spring Service Tips | Beaverton, OR

Given the fact that Subaru vehicles like the 2021 Forester, Outback, and Crosstrek are so reliable, it’s easy to forget that routine maintenance is still a vital part of car ownership. Now that the weather is warming up and summer is finally on the horizon, it’s a good time to make sure your car is still in fighting shape. Here are a few spring service tips you can use to make sure your Subaru runs like new for years to come.

Perform a fluid check

Even if you haven’t been very much over the past few months, you should check your vehicle’s vital fluids. If your 2021 Ascent or 2021 Impreza is due for an oil change, you can ask the service experts at Carr Subaru in Beaverton, Oregon, to take a look at the rest of them.

Take a look at the tires

Between schlepping through snow, grinding against gravel, and tearing up the track in your 2021 WRX, your tires can take a beating during the winter. So, before you set out on your next road trip or springtime afternoon excursion, make sure you take a look at your tires. If the tread is worn down or the pressure is a bit too low — which happens when the temperature fluctuates — you can pick up a new set from your friends at CARR Subaru.

Change the windshield wipers

Chilly weather and road salt deposits can do a number on your windshield wipers, and it’s unsafe to hit the open road with a streaky windshield. If you’re planning a summer vacation, make sure your windshield wipers are in tip-top shape.

If your ride is in need of any service before you take to the open road — or if you’re in the market for a new family-hauler—don’t hesitate to pay us a visit at CARR Subaru.

Subaru Helped Some Pets in Need This Fall

Pets in Need | Beaverton, OR

Over the last few decades, Subaru has earned a well-deserved reputation as an automaker that cares. It started with a strong lineup of reliable cars with exceptional safety ratings and eventually grew into a series of philanthropic efforts known as the Subaru Love Promise. The latest example of Subaru’s commitment to doing good is its second annual “National Make a Dog’s Day” event, during which it helped pets in need.

Subaru Loves Pets, an animal-focused branch of the Love Promise, sponsored this event held on Oct. 22. It focused on finding homes for “last-to-be-adopted” dogs in shelters, including many canines with special needs.

“Dogs hold a special place in our hearts here at Subaru, and this year’s National Make a Dog’s Day [was…] the perfect occasion to show appreciation for our canine friends, especially the hundreds of thousands of dogs with special needs that are too often overlooked,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

Of course, if you already have a beloved four-legged family member, you don’t have to miss out on the fun. During October, you can catch one of the automaker’s dog-centric commercials that showcase how pet-friendly Subaru models are. Subaru also encourages you to do something special for your dog and share pictures on social media using #MakeADogsDay.

Even if you missed Make a Dog’s Day this year, though, there are still ways to celebrate the joy that dogs bring us. Add some pet-friendly accessories to your Subaru to make traveling with your canines less stressful. Call us at CARR Subaru to find out more.

J.D. Power Awards Subaru with 2020 Best Brand Loyalty Award

2020 Subaru Impreza | Beaverton, OR

For the second consecutive year, Subaru wins J.D Power’s Automotive Brand Loyalty Award. This consecutive win in 2020 proves the brand lives up to its reputation of building reliable, family-friendly vehicles.

“We remain grateful for the dedication of our owners and we are proud to provide long-lasting value for our customers, as both an automaker and a brand that is more than a car company,” said Thomas J. Doll, president and CEO of Subaru America.

Using buyer trends calculated in real time by Power Information Network coupled with repeat brand buying information, J.D. Power was able to determine automotive brand loyalty. The lead over Ford was more than 5 percent and significantly higher than the 41 percent earned by Jeep, 33 percent score tallied for Buick, and the 21.5 percent calculated for GMC

“Subaru owners are drawn to the reliability and capability of our vehicles, as well as the trustworthiness of our brand, this award from J.D. Power is a testament to their loyalty,” Doll added.

Subaru does not just make dependable vehicles overflowing with impressive safety tech, though. It gives back to the community with initiatives like its Love Promise. Subaru Reveals 2021 Ascent Pricing

2020 Subaru Ascent, Predecessor to the 2021 Ascent | Beaverton, OR

Subaru took the world by storm when it announced its largest SUV ever — the Ascent — at the 2017 LA Auto Show. Since then, the vehicle has gone on to earn praise from organizations like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, as well as winning awards from publications like Wards. Now, Subaru pulled the curtain back on how much the hotly-anticipated 2021 Ascent will cost.

According to a press release from the automaker, the 2021 Ascent will see a $300 price increase from the 2020 model year, adding up to $32,295. The minor price bump reflects a series of improvements, including additional safety systems and a highly-capable powertrain.

The most notable upgrade comes in the form of an expanded version of Subaru’s innovative EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, which now features Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering Technology, Lane Keep Assist, Steering Responsive Headlights with High Beam Assist, and a Second- and Third-Row Seat Belt Reminder.

You can also expect the 2021 Ascent to perform up to Subaru’s standards, as it comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive and X-Mode® with Hill Descent Control. At the end of the day, you’ll be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Even with the $300 price hike, the Ascent still clocks in with a lower starting price — and more standard features — than competitors like the Mazda XC-9 and the Buick Enclave.

If you can’t wait until the launch of the 2021 Subaru Ascent, check out our current inventory of 2020 models at CARR Subaru in Beaverton, Oregon.
